Following from Annie’s amazing video yesterday:
The lovely Kim at Frogpondsrock asked for help to raise money to get Annie an iPad.
Nathalie at Easy Peasy Kids spoke to the lovely people at our local Apple store who organised a discount for us.
And within 4 hours Annie was holding an iPad of her own!
I’m stunned, so many lovely people, thank you to all of you, thank you so very much. To those who donated, those who wanted to donate but were unable to because the money was already there, those who commented, posted, tweeted, thank you so very much.
Thank you to Ash at the Apple store for helping us out so quickly, thank you to Mollie the Apple Genius who spent an hour with Annie showing her how to use the iPad and getting Apps set up.
Thank you to everyone for the outpouring of generosity and beautiful comments on Annie’s post.
We spent the rest of this afternoon in the fracture clinic getting Annie’s cast removed, her wrist xrayed and a new cast put on, several hours that could have been hellish. However Annie was pleasantly occupied with her iPad, shared it with a distressed child to help cheer her up and later read the comments on yesterdays post.
I don’t have enough words to say how very thankful I am to have so many wonderful people in our lives, if I could reach through the screen and give you all a hug I would. Thank you.

Excellent news.
I’m so happy for Annie.
Last night I Ummed & Ahed about Annie’s predicament. Told hub about it. Knew we couldn’t afford to give a whole iPad.. And just as I wondered some more up came Kim’s PayPal button & then it said wont accept anymore. Of course I wanted to give … iTunes seemed the answer. iPad & more will go lots towards a more settled home!
Wonderful isn’t it?

Im a firm believer that Good things happen to good people, you do such a great job managing to maintain so many different aspects of everything in your life.. All while raising such beautiful princesses.
You and your girls deserve to have your very own Christmas miracle. (oh and hubby too)
I’m absolutely thrilled to bits for Annie.
MERRY CHRISTMAS.
I am sitting here at my computer in Tassie and I am crying and grinning away at the same time. All I did Marita, was decide that it was possible and then I took the first step. I know that sounds a bit cliched but comment forms aren’t my best place to express myself. I am so so pleased that I thought it was a “doable thing” When I read your tweet about Annie sharing the iPad I cried again. Yesterday was a very good day. xxxxxxx HUGS xxxxxxx

I was out yesterday when the call for help went out. When I returned I read the original post/email and was about to click over when I read the update which said the goal had already been accomplished! Amazing, I’m so happy for Annie and it’s a testament to the initiative and support of the community. xx

:O) what i wonderful story. I missed all of this yesterday. Love to know what was up with the funding. I used to work with flexible Options up here and know we funded a lot of ipads – just needed an OT to approve it. Must go back and read the rest of the story. But Yay!!!!!

I can’t wait to tell my husband this, I was telling him about Annies post & the first thing he said is what can we do . He will be thrilled to know that people have already managed to do something. I am so thrilled for Annie
You know, I read Kim’s post (skimmed it) while in bed, thinking I’d donate the next morning? Too late! Annie had her iPad already! She’s spot on in her video. What an articulate lil lady!

My lil Max was transfixed with her – he even copied her expression… like he knew it was something important to watch, even though he didn’t understand it. Well, I think he didn’t. No idea really I guess. For now.
